Applicants are reminded that no applications will be accepted at the Auburn Housing Authority office. All applications must be completed online. Applications will be selected by way of a preference system. The preference system is provided in the Housing Choice Voucher

The Mainstream Voucher Program is for families that include a qualifying household member who must be non-elderly and disabled. The head of household (head, co-head, or spouse) does not have to be the qualifying member. The qualifying member must be at least 18 years old or older and less than 62 years of age.

The Housing Choice Voucher program is the federal government's major program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market. Since housing assistance is provided on behalf of the family or individual, participants can find their own housing, including single-family homes, townhouses, and apartments within the Auburn Housing Authority's jurisdiction, including Lee County and Chambers County, Alabama.

The Auburn Housing Authority's website is mobile-friendly, allowing applicants to apply via their mobile phone, tablet, laptop, or personal computer as long as it has internet access.

A computer kiosk is available at the Auburn Housing Authority and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Office located as follows:

Auburn Housing Authority
931 Booker Street
Auburn, AL 36832

If an applicant has questions or requires a reasonable accommodation, please call (334) 821-2262, extension 224, before May 15, 2023.
