Mentoring Moms - April 2, 2025
On April 2nd, Auburn Housing Authority hosted its "Mentoring Moms" event at the Sparkman House, beginning at 12:00 PM. The gathering offered an opportunity for mothers to connect, learn, and grow in a supportive environment.
Attendees enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by Campus Kitchens before participating in an engaging budgeting workshop led by Dr. Nathaniel Dunlap of the PRF Institute. Dr. Dunlap shared valuable insights on budgeting for both short-term needs, such as monthly bills, and long-term financial goals.
A highlight of the session was the open discussion on ways to save money while managing a low income. The moms contributed thoughtful, practical ideas and left feeling encouraged and empowered. Dr. Dunlap also offered to provide ongoing support as they begin developing personalized budgeting plans.
With four moms in attendance, the event created a meaningful space for learning and community building. We look forward to the next Mentoring Moms gathering at the Sparkman House on June 4th!
