Dear Neighbor,
Auburn United Methodist Church Good News Rapid Rehousing ministry is pleased to announce the successful completion of our first year. Since the fall of 2025, AUMC GNRRH has helped twenty-six families who were experiencing housing instability to secure safe, affordable housing in Lee County. We have partnered with property managers and private landlords throughout Lee County who have opened doors to welcome our GNRRH families into permanent housing opportunities. Our housing providers have enjoyed open communication with AUMC GNRRH, timely payment of move-in costs, and reliable tenants supported through case management services by our staff and volunteers. Our program strives to help families gain housing stability beyond the initial move-in; we work to encourage gains in income, education, wellness, and financial literacy. Our GNRRH families are thriving in their new homes, and several have already accepted lease renewals for an additional year.
As we prepare for our second year of ministry, I would like to invite you to partner with us to provide housing opportunities to our Lee County neighbors. In the coming weeks, we will begin to accept new referrals from Alabama Rural Coalition for the Homeless. Our goal is to help an additional twenty families move into permanent housing. By partnering with us, you will join a group of generous, compassionate housing professionals with a shared vision of ensuring that all Lee County families have a place to call home.
Please call, email, or arrange to meet with us to learn more about AUMC GNRRH. We look forward to building new relationships and strengthening current partnerships as we work to encourage housing stability for Lee County families.
Sincerely,
Amy Bullington

The Good News Rapid Re-Housing (GNRRH) team appreciates your business as a landlord and looks forward to working with you to create housing solutions with our neighbors! Here are a few helpful things to know about how this program works:
- We are federally funded through HUD's Continuum of Care (CoC) program. Alabama Rural Coalition for the Homeless (ARCH) is our lead CoC agency and works in partnership with us.
- Rapid re-housing combines three types of assistance: housing search, case management, and financial assistance for move-in costs like security deposits, first month rent, and utility deposits.
- Assistance payments are made to you by AUMC. We request reimbursement from HUD afterwards.
- We make a housing plan with a budget with all our participants and are happy to share this with you.
- What happens after a tenant is approved for your property?
- We need a W-9 form and proof of ownership documents from you to make a payment.
- We need to complete a walkthrough and inspection BEFORE a lease is signed. This requires all repairs to be completed.
- We review the lease with the tenant before they sign it. We need a copy of the fully executed lease.
- We prepare a Letter of Guarantee once a lease is signed to guarantee AUMC's move-in assistance payment.
- We prepare payment as quickly as possible - within 1-2 business days.
- After move-in, we stay connected with tenants to help them meet their housing plan goals and stick to their budgets. A limited amount of funds are available for rent assistance but we cannot guarantee financial assistance beyond move-in.
- We are available to you as needed to help address any concerns before they become problems.
